Introduction

Continuous improvement and digital transformation are key to achieving service excellence and operational efficiency in public transport.

Jointly organised by UITP Academy and Metro Istanbul, this programme introduces the DMAIC framework (Define–Measure–Analyse–Improve–Control) as a structured, data-driven methodology for process optimisation. It integrates principles from Lean, TPM, and Six Sigma, tailored to the realities of urban mobility.

Participants will also join a technical field visit to Metro Istanbul’s maintenance facilities and stations to observe Kaizen projects and continuous improvement initiatives in practice.

The course follows the standards of:

  • ISO 13053-1 & 2: Quantitative Methods in Process Improvement — Six Sigma
  • ISO 29990: Learning Services for Non-Formal Education and Training
